An external effects unit connects to the DJ mixer so you can work the audio live with echoes, filters, rolls and tempo-synced samples, using dedicated hardware controls. In this category we offer the AlphaTheta RMX Ignite: a 3-Band FX section with three Lever FX levers (Echo, Reverb, Juggle, Reverse, Solo, Stretch) and three Isolate FX knobs (Tape Echo, Reverb, Drive, Filter, Ducker, Rhythm) acting on the lows, mids and highs; a four-pad sampler with 20 built-in samples, Sample Roll, Groove Roll and Overdub; six Sampler Color FX; and the Release Echo button, which clears effects and samples with an echo tail. How to choose and connect it: it usually sits on the mixer's send/return. With the manufacturer's compatible mixers a single USB cable to the MULTI I/O port is enough, with the mixer firmware up to date; with any other mixer it connects in analogue through 1/4" TS jacks. With compatible players linked via PRO DJ LINK (LAN), it syncs BPM and grid and loads samples from the player's USB drive. Does the RMX Ignite work with any DJ mixer?
It connects in analogue through one 1/4" TS input and one output: on the mixer's send/return, on the master, or between player and mixer. With the manufacturer's compatible mixers, the send/return can also be digital over a single USB cable to the MULTI I/O port.
Can I use my own samples?
Yes. Besides its 20 built-in samples, the sampler loads your own samples from USB in WAV or AIFF (16 or 24-bit, 44.1 to 96 kHz) and, with compatible players linked via PRO DJ LINK, also from the player's USB or SD media.
