At Peak Entertainment we have mono and stereo DI boxes from Radial and Klark Teknik, plus Radial line isolators and level converters, to connect keyboards, basses, acoustic guitars, laptops or players to the mixing desk with a balanced signal. A DI box converts the unbalanced signal from an instrument or line-level device into a balanced signal that can run long lengths of mic cable to the desk with less noise. DIs are used at concerts, DJ sets, theatre shows and corporate events with laptops or video playback. For a single source there are the Klark Teknik DN 100 and the Radial J48 mono; for stereo keyboards, laptops or players, the Klark Teknik DN 200 and the Radial J48 stereo; and the Radial Stagebug is the compact option. For level or grounding problems, the Radial J-Iso converts a balanced +4 dBu output to unbalanced -10 dBV for recorders and consumer equipment, and the Radial Twin-Iso is a two-channel balanced line isolator with Jensen transformers to tackle ground-loop hum. How to choose: count how many sources are on stage and whether they are mono or stereo.
