About the Akai MIDImix

The Akai MIDImix is a USB MIDI controller laid out like a miniature mixing desk: eight channel faders, a master fader, 24 knobs and mute, solo and record-arm buttons for hands-on control of your DAW. It is built for producers, hybrid DJs and laptop live acts working in Ableton Live, where it maps 1-to-1 as soon as you select it as a control surface. Peak Entertainment offers Akai MIDImix hire in Madrid and for events across Spain; ask us for availability and a quote.

What it is rented for

It earns its place in electronic live sets and hybrid DJ shows: track volumes, sends, mutes and solos in Ableton Live without reaching for the mouse, with Bank Left/Right stepping through blocks of eight channels. It also drives plug-in parameters via MIDI learn in any DAW and works as a compact mix surface for mobile studios. From our catalogue it pairs well with the Akai APC40 MKII for clip launching, the Akai MPD218 for pads, the SSL 2+ interface for audio output and the Audibax Laptop Stand; for a hardware live rig, add a Roland TR-8 or a Korg Electribe EMX-1.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire the Akai MIDImix?

The Akai MIDImix rents for €10 (excluding VAT) at the rate shown on our website. Email info@peaksound.es or WhatsApp +34 636 410 986 to check availability and get a quote for your date in Madrid or anywhere in Spain.

Does it work with DAWs other than Ableton Live?

Yes. In Ableton Live it maps 1-to-1 once selected as a control surface; in other DAWs you assign its faders, knobs and buttons via MIDI learn or with Akai's free editor, which sets the CC or note number and MIDI channel for each control.

Does it need an external power supply?

No. It is powered over the computer's USB bus through the same cable that carries the MIDI data. If you connect it through a USB hub, Akai recommends using a powered hub.
